Outstanding musicians of the Filharmonie Brno will present the music of Antonin Dvorak, Leos Janacek, Bohuslav Martinu, and Jan Novak, among others. The Filharmonie Brno Chamber Concert program at the Bohemian National Hall is part of the Filharmonie Brno Philharmonic US tour 2023

Jan Novák: Concertino for Wind Quintet

Leoš Janáček: String Quartet No. 2 “Intimate Letters”
Performed by Wallinger Quartet: Pavel Wallinger – violin, Jan Vašta – violin, Julián Veverica – viola, Lukáš Svoboda – violoncello

Philip Glass: Stokes for piano four hands
Laurie Anderson: Songs for Bob for piano four hands
Antonín Dvořák: Slavonic Dance in G Minor Op. 46 No. 8 for piano four hands

Bohuslav Martinů: Quartet for Clarinet, French Horn, Violoncello and Snare Drum in C Major H 139
Performed by: Lukáš Daňhel – clarinet, Nicolas Peréz – French horn, Lukáš Svoboda – violoncello, Lukáš Krejčí – snare drum    

The concert will be accompanied by an exhibition of the Czech National Museum highlighting Czech music composers (Dvořák, Martinů, Janáček, Smetana), which will be launched on the same evening in New York.  The concert also presents the music heritage of Brno (Jan Novák, Leoš Janáček).

Filharmonie Brno will perform the following day, Wednesday, February 8, in Carnegie Hall.

This event is free and open to the public. Seats are limited, on first-come first-served basis. RSVP through Eventbrite is required.

The event is organized by the Dvořák American Heritage Association (DAHA), in association with the Czech Center New York and the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in New York. Supported by the Bohemian Benevolent and Literary Association (BBLA).
