All events in the Bohemian National Hall have been canceled for the month of March. We will reschedule Spring Musicale for another day, after the pandemic is over, and will notify everyone of the new date.

The delightful tradition of Sunday afternoon musicales continues with the tenth annual Spring Musicale. Featuring young talent as well as seasoned musicians, the program opens with a movement from Antonin Dvorak’s engaging first piano trio, performed by Juilliard pre-college students. The African-American spiritual “Deep River” follows, in an arrangement by Jascha Heifetz, played by violinist Lilit Gampel. Quartet 131 presents the Brahms masterwork, String Quartet in C minor, and, as a finale, the audience will hear an unusual intimate performance of Dvorak’s Serenade for Strings.

Program:

Dvorak, Piano Trio in B-flat major, Opus 21, one movement performed by students from The Juilliard School pre-college

‘Deep River,’ spiritual, Jascha Heifetz arrangement, performed by Lilit Gampel

Brahms, String Quartet in C minor, Opus 51 no.1, performed by Quartet 131

Dvorak, Serenade for Strings in E major, Opus 22, performed by Quartet 131 and Friends

General admission to be paid at the door: $30. Seniors, students, Czech Center Club members $20. Buy in advance online and save 20%.

This event is organized by violinist Laura Jean Goldberg, artistic advisor and DAHA Board Member, and the Dvorak American Heritage Association (DAHA), with support of BBLA.
